HIELOS FUEGINOS
Documentary - 10 min about an expedition in Tierra del Fuego
Are there places so little explored in our world and still neglected by men? The Darwin Cordillera, hidden in the southern lands, remains in this a mythical place. Protected from men by its dantesque climate and border administrative formalities, this wild land has always been a place of unknowns and explorations.
Émilie Oustric and Arnaud Peytavin are originally from Nîmes, live in Sallanches and have been mountaineering for 5 years. Rare are the amateurs of short experiences who embark on an expedition to Tierra del Fuego and the Cordillera of Darwin, in the extreme south of the Americas. Émilie and Arnaud have just returned from the mountains of this uncrowded mountain range where, with their team, they have opened up new routes.
Here is their story.

A land of explorers and exploits, the Darwin Cordillera remains a mythical place associated with the famous names of adventurers such as Shipton, Fitz Roy or more recently GMHM. Its location close to Cape Horn with its dantesque and capricious climatic conditions further reinforces its reputation and the myth of its inaccessibility. But what really is it? What are the challenges that this wild land still unknown to men holds?
DIRECTORS and EXPEDITION MEMBERS
Lovers of remote corners, ungulates, pisco and getaways of all kinds, our team dedicates all its free time and its crampons to its passion for peaks and ice cubes. Back from our last project in Tierra del Fuego, in the heart of the mythical Darwin Cordillera, we want to share our story and our unpublished images of this still very little-known area. We are keen to pass on our experiences and the discoveries of this expedition. And to show that the time for exploration is not over yet.
